The mountain
Mainalo, one of the most emblematic mountains of the Peloponnese, is located in the heart of Arcadia and is a favourite destination for nature lovers and hikers. With a height of 1,981 metres, Mainalo stands out for its rich vegetation, impressive landscapes and historical significance.
The mountain has numerous hiking trails, covering every level of difficulty, from easy paths through fir forests to challenging routes leading to peaks with panoramic views. The routes pass through traditional villages, such as Stemnitsa and Dimitsana, as well as natural monuments such as gorges, rivers and waterfalls.
Mainalo also hosts the Menalon Trail, one of the first trails in Greece to be certified by the European Hiking Confederation. This trail connects nine mountain villages and offers a unique opportunity to explore the authentic beauty and cultural heritage of the region.
