Plastira Lake: Hiking trail for bird watching
Lake Plastira is one of my favourite mountain hiking destinations, a place full of greenery and full of surprises for nature lovers. Each route I explore here reveals a world of natural beauty and serenity, and I look forward to sharing with you in the near future, even more of them - known and lesser-known hiking trails.
The route starts from the village of Belokomiti (see map) and descends through a path wrapped in dense vegetation, leading you to the lake. This piece of nature hides two distinct elements:
The first is the beauty of the forest road leading to the shores of the lake. This road "feeds" a continuous view of the lake and the end of the trail is covered by dense trees, creating a natural canopy that protects you from the hot summer sun. There, you can sit in the shade, relax and enjoy the tranquility offered by the reflection of the spruce forest in the serene waters of the lake.
The second is the fact that this area is a passage for cormorants. The absolute silence is uniquely interrupted by the "wild" sound of these birds, offering an unforgettable natural audio-visual experience that is hard to describe in words.
The route is relatively easy, as we keep going down to the lake, but remember that the return will require a corresponding climb. If you visit Lake Plastira and reach the area of Belokomitis, don't miss this hiking route. It is an experience that will fill you with images, sounds and memories of absolute nature!
On the map you will see a path on the left leading parallel to the lake. Although I tried to explore it, the very dense vegetation at one point prevented me from continuing. I hope it will be cleared at some point, because it promises to provide a magnificent hiking experience by the lake and under the trees.
The photos were taken with a Nikon Z50, lens 50 - 250 m
(of course no camera makes a photographer)
Happy trails to all!
